About Us
Situated two miles from the downtown Taos Plaza, Taos Organic Bed & Breakfast overlooks the valley to San Antonio Mountain and has a clear view of Taos Mountain. The house was built in 1945 out of railroad ties from the old dismantled Chile Line that used to bring chili to Colorado.

Proprietor, farmer, chef, dairymaid, and artist, Ms Meibao, has created a special down-to-earth sanctuary. She believes in walking softly on the earth, keeping chemicals out of her home. The linens are washed with scent-free, biodegradable detergent and then sun dried on the line. Rooms are cleaned with vinegar, soda, water and elbow grease. Organic shampoo and soaps grace the bathrooms.

Nothing fancy, just a real farm, bed and breakfast experience with plenty of old-fashion hospitality. For readers and contemplators, there is a bonus of having no electronic distractions such as televisions, DVD’s and radios. However, in the main house, there is wireless DSL. |
 |
Above the inner courtyard is a ramada with a hammock and two swings that overlook two landscape ponds and a stream. A beautiful place to relax, read or nap. Inside the main house is an indoor pond with a Japanese tatami platform overlooking the pond, perfect for contemplation and writing. |
For those who are interested, Meibao offers communal dinners. Donations are accepted. Please let her know. All foods offered at Taos Organic BB are either grown and made on the property, or bought locally. Meibao is an innovative, intuitive chef. She used to own Tapas de Taos Café on Bent Street in the 1990s. |
We are a very children friendly farm. Most of the farm residents are tame and love visits, especially if greens are being passed out. Children enjoy looking for eggs and feeding greens to the Ladies and Gents. Two baby kids are tame and can be led around. Pets are welcome, subject to how well they behave with the farm residents and guests.

The Taos Organic Bed and Breakfast is open from May to November only. Special considerations can be made for those wishing to spend Christmas and New Year's there. Special rates apply. |
